Passed away unexpectedly on Monday, August 28, 2023, at the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre, Barrie, Ontario. Born on June 25, 1946, in Toronto, Ontario. Ken lived a remarkable life and leaves behind a legacy that will be cherished by his family, friends, and colleagues.

Ken dedicated his career to education as a Professor at Seneca College. His passion for physics and mathematics was evident in the countless lives he impacted throughout his tenure. Ken had a profound influence on his students, who remember him as an exceptional educator and someone who genuinely cared about their success.

As a proud Green Bay Packers fan, he cheered on his team with unwavering enthusiasm. He relished in the camaraderie shared with family and friends as they celebrated victories and weathered defeats together.

Ken also loved exploring new places and cultures through travel. His curiosity knew no bounds as he ventured into different corners of the world including New Zealand, Australia, Italy, and Panama.

Throughout his life, Ken remained involved with the Scouting movement. He cherished memories made during camping trips to Dorset and Algonquin, and teaching valuable life lessons to young scouts. Ken’s compassion and dedication to mentoring these young individuals will continue to shape future generations positively.

Above all accomplishments, Ken’s greatest source of pride was his family. He held a deep love for his spouse, children, and grandchildren. His happy enthusiasm, unwavering support, wisdom, and unconditional love formed the foundation of their lives.

Beloved husband of Sue for 41 years. Cherished father to Michael Kirton (Trin Klein), and Amanda Kirton (David Poole). Loving grandfather to Tina Kirton and predeceased by Dominic Kirton.

Ken will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His sudden departure has left an indescribable void in our hearts. Though he may no longer be with us in flesh, his spirit will forever guide us in our personal and professional pursuits.

Friends will be received at LEGACY FUNERAL HOME, 55 Cedar Pointe Drive, Barrie (parking and entrance on Highway 400 side of building) on Saturday, September 2, 2023 from 12:30 until time of Memorial Service in the Chapel at 1:30 p.m. Reception to follow.
