Elinora was born in Denmark and emigrated to Canada in 1957 with her husband and four children. She was a hard worker, a master knitter who loved the card game, Canasta. She was our mom, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be missed.
Elinora was pre-deceased by her husband, Fred (2009) and son, Preben (1958). Elinora leaves behind her daughters, Mariane Cancilla (Jim), Helle of Toronto, Hanne of Barrie and son, Ken of Barrie; her grandchildren Mark Cancilla (Cara) of Tottenham, Marty Cancilla (Woniya) of Rossland, B.C., Roxanne Futia (Victor) of Toronto, Levon of Toronto, Alex (Barrie), Brendan (Winnipeg) and Dylan Hulgaard of (St. Catherines) Elinora loved to have visits from and hear about the lives of her great-grandchildren Mya, Kieran, Chase, Reina, Quentin and Rowan.
The family thanks the staff of Grove Park Longterm Care Home for their caring touch and support.
A private family gathering will take place at a later date. Cremation has been entrusted to Marshall Driver Funeral Services, Barrie as per Elinora’s wishes.
