We are devastated to share the passing of Rodney Royal Howes, 68, of Barrie, Ontario. Rod passed away peacefully on August 8th with his daughter by his side. He will be remembered dearly by all those who loved and knew him. Anyone lucky enough to have known Rod, knows how dedicated he was to his family and how much he loved his best friend and wife of 40 years, Moira. He is survived by his children Christopher (Christianna) Howes and Nicole Howes (Brendon Doran), of Barrie, who are heartbroken to have lost him so suddenly. He will be missed deeply by his grandchildren Owen and Lincoln Howes and Vivian Doran. Rodney would do anything for his family and was an amazing grandpa, never missing a chance to surprise the kids with adventures, boat rides, pez and whatever they may need. He will always be their favorite Super Hero. Rodney was a very committed and loving brother to his sisters, Lorelei (Robb) Munroe, Lynne (Rob) O’Neill, Joanne Brown and predeceased by Valerie (Danny) Desmond. He is loved and missed by so many nieces, nephews and Moira’s family (Kings) in Brantford, Ontario, where Rodney was born. Rodney was recently retired and previously a long time member of the IBEW Local Union 105. Our lives and boat rides will never be the same without him, but together as a family we will keep his memories alive and his love in our hearts forever. Visitation will take place on Friday, August 13, 2021 at ADAMS FUNERAL HOME (445 St. Vincent Street, Barrie, Ontario) from 10-11 a.m. followed by a private Funeral Service at 11 a.m. that can be viewed through the following link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/82899144315?pwd=S3NRNkVpOExuWnBBMCt0dUhVcGZadz09
