Passed away peacefully on March 30th, 2024 at the age of 80, in Barrie, Ontario. Mom will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her son Jack Hopper (Alison), daughter Lisa Longman (John); grandchildren Scott Longman (Chantel), Tyler Longman; and her great grandchildren Charlotte, Remington, and Georgiana. Martha will also be missed and remembered by her dear sister Debbie Nicholls (Doug); nieces Jennifer, and Christie (Mike); and her great nieces Madison, Cameron, Emma, and Brooklyn.
Following an illustrious career of more than 36 years with the Royal Bank of Canada, mom retired in May of 2004. Mom pioneered Executive and Professional Banking which has become a blueprint for the National Professional Initiative. Serving as the Chair for Arts Etobicoke, mom was also the first female member of the Kiwanis Club of the Kingsway as well as the first female President of the Kiwanis Club of Canada.
Despite all her many professional accomplishments, the most important to her was her family. She was always our mom having to do both parental roles as a single parent. We couldn't be more proud to be her children. We love you and miss you terribly. Rest easy mommie. We got it from here.
