Elaine Hart died peacefully on May 18, 2022. She was 95 years old.
Dear mother of Beverly Pope (Bernard), Stephen Simmons, and Jane Meil (late Wayne). Sister of Joanne Hooker (late Gerald) and aunt to Ken Hooker (Gaétan). Elaine had five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild.
Like many women of her generation, she enjoyed baking, knitting, sewing and smocking dresses for her family. The children across all generations have looked forward to spending time with her and enjoyed learning the recipes for some of the family favourite treats (though we have found that some are difficult to get right without her help!).
Later in life, she played golf, bridge and volunteered at RVH, but family times were always most important.
Our family would like to thank Dr. B. McTurk and all the staff at the Coleman Care Centre for their care throughout Elaine’s stay, especially in the challenging circumstances of these past two years.
Cremation has taken place and a private celebration of life will take place in the future.
