Passed away peacefully at her home with her family by her side on Wednesday, October 11th, 2023. Elizabeth is predeceased by her sister Kathy Irvin (Rick) and her niece, Debbie. Loving mother of Cathie James (Tim), Andrea Mackenzie (Roddy), and Tori Foster (Jodi); proud aunt of Timothy Irvin (Heidi); devoted grandmother of Jaime, Ruby, Jasper, Henry, Nicolas, and Phoebe; dear cousin of Liz Beecheno, and chosen sister of Judi Shields. Elizabeth will also be dearly missed by her many friends.
Elizabeth found great joy in the many activities and groups she was involved with. She treasured the countless hours spent with all the wonderful people at bridge, in her book club, at Caritas, her spiritual group, and being pampered at Rinaldi’s. She was a dynamic presence within the community, contributing in meaningful and generous ways, leaving an indelible impact on all those she crossed paths with.
The family expresses profound gratitude to the staff and physicians at RVH and her extended community of healers for their devoted and professional care.
A service will be held on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at 2:00pm at Adams Funeral Home, 445 St. Vincent, Barrie, ON. After the service the family will be receiving family and friends from 3:00-4:00pm. Per Elizabeth’s request, please wear bright and cheerful colours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Elizabeth’s name to The Busby Centre:
