Passed away on September 10, 2023 at the IOOF in Barrie. Son of the late John and Eliza Flynn. Beloved husband of the late Chris-Anne (2008), and is survived by his loving partner Laurel Connell, who brought so much joy to his life. Loving father of Joanna Flynn (Gerard Desrochers), and Robert Flynn (Susan Atkinson). Proud papa of Cassidy Atkinson-Ethier, and Lauren Noble (Brandon Noble); and great-papa of Bennett Nobel. Brother of Rose, and Donald (Linda Flynn). Bob is survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews, as well as extended family members.
Bob leaves behind a legacy of love and a lifetime of cherished memories. He was a humble veteran who served his country with honor in the Royal Canadian Navy, having served on both H.M.C.S Bonaventure and H.M.C.S. Shelbourne. Bob could fix everything, from home improvements to anything with a motor. In the early years Bob enjoyed motorcycles and cars. He never lost his love for dancing and was a devoted fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs. His sociable nature was a perfect fit for his sales career in the Transportation Industry. He knew everyone and was always ready for a friendly chat or to lend a helping hand. He found immense joy in spending time with his grandchildren and was always available to provide support and guidance to his family. But perhaps what endeared Bob the most to those who knew him was his big heart, sense of humour, and a fun-loving spirit that was contagious. He lived life to the fullest and made every moment count. He will be dearly missed.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Army Navy Club, 52 Morrow Rd., Barrie on Sunday, October 1, 2023, from 1-3 p.m.
