December 11, 1927 – September 7, 2023
Following a brief illness, Betty Fenton (nee Short) passed away peacefully with family by her side at the age of 95 on Thursday, September 7, at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre, Barrie, Ontario.
Predeceased in 2012 by John, her loving husband of 62 years, Betty will be fondly remembered by their children Michael (Donna), Richard (Judi) and Jane (Tony); grandchildren Marc (Amanda), Michael (Charmaine), Lindsay (Mykel), Lauren, Brooke, Patrick, Jordy, and Lachlan; and great-grandchildren.
She will also be deeply missed by numerous relatives, friends, and dedicated caregivers at Grove Park Home.
Born in Bradford, England, Betty was predeceased by parents Ralph and Rhoda, siblings Dorothy, Rhoda, Jean, and Ralph.
Betty had an incredible life rich with family and dear friends, was a very loving grandmother and great-grandmother, and enjoyed considerable travel with John; she was a faithful sponsor of more than 40 years of many children globally through Plan International Canada, and a dedicated pillar of her church.
On behalf of our family, our appreciation to everyone for your heartfelt love and support. We have laughed and cried together as we have reflected on decades of fond memories with Mom and Nana at the heart of them, while honouring a most extraordinary life well lived.
