Passed away on May 27th, 2022 in his 87th year.
Cherished husband of Carol for 26 years. Loving father to Harvey Jr., Peter, Gordon (Lisa), David (Heather) and Jennifer. Loving step father to Katriona (Paul) and Sara ( Jeremy). Grandfather to Tom, Calvin, Miles, Kate, Elizabeth, Sophie and Calder.
Harvey was a dedicated radiologist at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie. It is here that he met his loving wife Carol, with whom he shared his life, love of pets and the serenity of their Midhurst home. He began his career at Toronto General Hospital in Toronto, where he met and married his predeceased wife Helen. They had 5 children together and loved one another before Helen’s passing in 1989.
In Harvey’s youth, he attended UCC and University of Toronto where he was an active member of the swim team. Harvey spent a lifetime of summers in Muskoka which was his favourite place. His passion for sailing was evident in the yearly regattas held at Muskoka Lakes Sailing Club, that he helped to organize. He was a long time and active member of the Osler Bluff Ski Club throughout the winters, dedicated to cutting first tracks through the fresh corduroy snow well into his 80’s.
An informal Celebration of Life is planned for Friday June 24th, 2022 at Adam’s Funeral Home in Barrie between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. People who knew Harvey are welcome to come, share memories and stories, and celebrate the life of Harvey. Harvey was a kind and compassionate person who was loved by many. He will be greatly missed. We’ll see you at the cottage, dad and we’ll look for you on the hills. We know you’ll be there ‘footloose and fancy free.’
