It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Frederick Lawrence DesJardins on November 12, 2022. Beloved husband of Hazel for 69 years. Loving father of David (Rose), Kathy, Daniel (Julie), Jocelyn, Lorraine and Joseph (Jennifer).
Dear brother of the late Frank, David and Lorraine; uncle to numerous nieces and nephews. Papa to Denise, Tabatha, Adam, Marlo, Jonathan, Blake, Michelle, Jason, James, Alicia, Louis, Alexanne, and Magali. Grand-Papa to twelve great-grand children.
His passion for singing old, old songs led him to be a County Chordsmen for a number of years. Fred was also an athlete of sorts. He took up training in his later years and ran a marathon in his sixties. He had an entrepreneur’s spirit from a very young age and managed several successful businesses. His last one before retiring was karaoke.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Busby Centre or charity of choice.
A memorial visitation will begin at 10 a.m. with a memorial service to follow beginning at 11 a.m. on Sunday, November 27, 2022 at Adams Funeral Home (445 St. Vincent Street, Barrie). Messages of condolences can be forwarded to the family through adamsfuneralhome.ca.
