THEODORE (TED) FRANS WILLEM CREMERS
September 20, 1939 – November 16, 2022
Ted passed away peacefully at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre on Wednesday, November 16th, 2022 at the age of 83. He was born in Amsterdam, Netherlands, to Theodore and Gysbertje Cremers. Along with his parents and younger sister, he immigrated to Canada when Ted was a young teenager. Ted was predeceased by his loving parents, his mother-in-law, Geertruida (Trudy), his father-in-law, Peter, and his loving wife, Cornelia (Carla) Cremers.
Ted was a loving husband to the late Carla for 25 years. Later, the life-partner of Marlene Drozdow for 23 years. Proud father of Michelle (Greg) and Brian (Angie) and cherished Opa to Evelyn, Henry, Claire, and Tate. Brother of Wilhelmina (Peter). Brother-in-law to Bertha (Tony), Jack (Terri), Trudy (Faust), late Barry (Laurie), Therese (Steve). Uncle to John (Theresa), Gerry (Clare), Jamie (Kim), Sheryl (Ryan), Jeff (Cari), Sandy (Brian), Rob (Robin), Tina, Kim (Clint), Kerry (Michael), Kevin (Michelle), Sam (Rebecca), Halli (Shabhaz), James (Melissa), and Kristina.
Ted valued his role as a millwright mechanic at Nelsons and Becton Dickenson in Toronto and later Molson Breweries in Barrie. When the Barrie Molson plant closed, he then enjoyed his time living in the Severn area in retirement.
Ted enjoyed the outdoors. For many years, he visited Lady Evelyn Lake for an annual fishing trip. He spent many memorable summers on Kashagawigamog Lake with Carla, Michelle, Brian, family and friends at the Northern Eagle Campground. He was adventurous and enjoyed travel camping, having explored Canada from coast to coast to coast with Marlene.
Ted will always endearingly be remembered by family and friends as the stubborn Dutchman. The big guy with the booming voice and a loud laugh who enjoyed friendly gatherings for fish fries, New Years open houses, and a competitive game of euchre. Ted was also a sensitive man that loved his family. He lived a long, full life and will be greatly missed by family and friends alike.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date and arranged by the family.
