July 29, 1932 - November 17, 2022

Theresa (Terry) Elizabeth Burns (nee Macdonald) left us November 17 to rest in peace. She was predeceased by her husband of 61 yrs Robert Archibald Burns (Bob). She was a devoted mother to Gary (Darlene) and Brian (Louise). She was a cherished grandmother to Jennifer, Pamela, Rebecca and Mary . She was a loving great-grandmother to Grace, Keira, Mitchell and Lane. She was predeceased by her siblings Gerald, Lorne and Ann. She is survived by her brother Thad (Louise) who still resides in PEI. Some of her very good friends are Virginia Mann, Linda Shanks and Yvonne Rattrey.  Terry was a strong and good willed woman with a heart of gold. She did not judge anyone and always offered her time and support to others. She will be remembered as the grandma that took us to get ice cream, that always had baked cookies and so much love to give. She always ensured she spent quality time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and provided much encouragement and support in all their lives. So many good memories of her kindness and love that was unconditional from anyone that knew her. She was very happy and thoughtful to all and anyone she met. She met Bob at a Navy Yard dance and then married in 1959 in Halifax Nova Scotia, and over the years together her and Bob led a full life spent time camping, travelling, dinner parties and cruising. They lived on many Canadian Force bases including Lahr, Germany and had a place in Florida as snowbirds for many years. She was a committed member of her church St Mary’s Parish in Barrie where they resided for almost 40 years until they moved to Amherstburg, Ontario. She was always helping out her community. She was loved by so many. She was nothing short of amazing. She will be missed by all that knew her, may she rest in peace and finally be reunited with Bob again. Service and internment will be planned for the spring of 2023. Arrangements entrusted to SIMPLE CHOICE (Dougall), 519-254-2585.
