It is with great sadness that we announce that Tessa, beloved wife of the late A.John Bryant (August 2017), passed away on June 12 at the age of 88. She leaves behind her daughter Jane (Bryant) Salmon and her husband Paul Salmon, her son Graham Bryant and his wife Patricia (Ferguson) Bryant, her grandchildren Robin Salmon (Kris Lund), Marlow Salmon, Brittany Bryant, Nathan Bryant and her great grandson Gordon John Lund. Tessa also leaves behind her beloved cat, Penny.
Born in 1933 in England to Gilbert and Vera Hughes nee Marris, Tessa moved with her mother into the loving London home of her beloved Granny and Papa Marris after her parents’ divorce. She remained in London during World War II while her mother served in the Fire Service. In December 1954 she met John Bryant and they became engaged within 11 days of meeting. Tessa, John and their children emigrated to Canada in 1964 and became Canadian citizens in 1977. Tessa served her community of Port Hope as a member of the Port Hope Hospital Board and later as an administrative worker in Community Care. Tessa was active in the tennis and lawn bowling community. She had a great love for gardening, travel with John and adored animals, especially cats and birds.
Tessa will be dearly missed by friends and family. A closed celebration of life will be held by family in her honour. The family gratefully thanks staff and friends at Amica Little Lake in Barrie for their support and care. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the O.S.P.C.A. or the Alzheimer Society.
