With sadness, the family of Mary Berthelotte announces that this fiercely independent and gentle soul died peacefully at Hospice Simcoe on June 1st, 2017.
She is survived by her cherished Shelties Mighty and Smartie and her cat Nutzy. She will be deeply missed by her nieces and nephews Lori, Danny, Lisa, Bernadette, Joan, Scooter, Allison, Paige, Chris and Ben and her cousin Michelle. Her grandnieces and nephews and cousins also share many fond memories with her. Her circle of care is forever grateful for the unwavering dedication of her friend Ian. Her thoughtful approaches to friendship and her pleasure in conversation afforded her a long list of caring and trusted friends and neighbours too numerous to mention. Through her years of competitive and provincial winning softball and hockey she also developed lifelong friends and these women continued to share memories over beer decades past their final games. All those who knew Mary would agree that she was generous, humble and thoughtful with a heart full of kindness towards all animals. She lived with the appreciation of what each day brought to her.
Visitation will be held at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie on Wednesday June 7, 2017 from 7 to 9 PM, with a Mass of Christian Burial taking place at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 65 Amelia St., Barrie, on Thursday, June 8 at 10 AM. Donations, should you chose, can be donated to Hospice Simcoe or the Ontario SPCA. You can also do a good and generous deed for others with her in your thoughts.
