Snow squall watch in effect for:

  • Barrie - Collingwood - Hillsdale
  • Midland - Coldwater - Orr Lake
  • Orillia - Lagoon City - Washago

Snow squalls are expected to develop to the east of Lake Huron and Georgian Bay Wednesday morning as much colder air arrives.

While accumulations are expected to exceed 15 cm in some locales, the greater threat will be the strong gusty westerly winds which will cause extensive blowing snow and potential whiteout conditions.

The squalls are expected to remain north of the city of Barrie for the most part.

Travel conditions will deteriorate Wednesday and remain poor into Thursday.

There will be potential for road closures.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.
