Police say sleepy teen to blame for motorcycle crash with injuries

INNISFIL - On Friday July 15 at 2:10 a.m. a 36-year-old Innisfil man riding a motorcycle was south bound on 10 Sideroad near the 9th Line.

The man was being followed by a 17-year-old from Innisfil in a Honda Civic. The youth reports falling asleep while driving and rear-ending the motorcycle.

The man was ejected from the motorcycle and landed on the roadway. He suffered leg and ankle injuries and was taken to a local hospital.

The 17-year-old was not injured and has been charged with careless driving under the Highway Traffic Act.

Police remind all motorists that if you are tired or sleepy do not continue to drive.

Find a parking lot, a restaurant, or anywhere that is safe to pull off the roadway. Do not put yourself or others at risk.
