NEWS RELEASE

SOUTH SIMCOE POLICE

*************************
On Sunday, January 3, 2016, just before midnight, South Simcoe Police were called to a Churchill home.

A man reported that his adult son was to live at the home and abide by the rules as part of recognizance for a previous criminal charge.

One of the conditions was to abstain from alcohol, and he told the call taker that his son had been drinking.

As officers arrived on scene, a rental moving truck was pulling out of the driveway.

Officers stopped the truck and spoke with the woman driving. She denied knowledge of the suspect's whereabouts, but the officers could hear someone moving inside the box of the moving van.

When they opened the rear door, the man hiding inside surrendered.

A 27-year-old Churchill man has been held for a bail hearing and charged with Breach of Recognizance.
