Orillia motorcyclist killed in mid-afternoon crash

Earlier today, the Orillia detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a fatal collision at University Avenue, near Old Barrie Road, in the City of Orillia.

Police were dispatched to the West Ridge area at approximately 12:10 p.m. with reports of a single motor vehicle collision involving a motorcycle. The 45 year old male driver from Orillia was driving southbound on University Avenue toward Old Barrie Road when his motorcycle hit the curb. The male was pronounced deceased at the scene. The name of the deceased is being withheld pending next of kin notification.
