Nominations are now open for the 2019 Indigenous Business Leadership Award. This $5,000 award, presented as a partnership between the Forest Products Association of Canada (FPAC) and the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business (CCAB) recognizes and celebrates Indigenous entrepreneurs for their success in a forestry business that supports Indigenous employment.

The criteria is that the business exemplifies business leadership, environmental and safety performance, and product quality, demonstrating a long-term commitment to the Indigenous community.

President and CEO of FPAAC Derek Nighbo said, “Indigenous communities have played an important role in Canada’s forest products sector for decades, and we are always looking for ways to recognize excellence and encourage collaboration."

Nominations are due March 31, 2019, and winners will be recognized and celebrated during FPAC’s annual award ceremony on May 9, in Vancouver.
