Male faces drug, impaired charges following drive-thru incident

Early on the morning of Sept. 10, a 47-year-old male was driving through the McDonald’s drive-thru located on Dunlop Street.

Staff observed the driver strike another vehicle and flee the scene.

The vehicle was located by police a short distance away. 

The male driver failed a roadside alcohol test and was arrested.

He was then taken to the Barrie Police station where he refused to provide a breath sample. 

Police located a quantity of cocaine and cash on his person.

He has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, impaired care and control of a motor vehicle, and refusal.

He was released on a Promise to Appear with future court date.
