Barrie Housing, a Barrie-based social and low-income housing provider, is excited to announce the launch of its new charitable organization, Barrie Housing Beyond Homes Foundation (Beyond Homes Foundation), dedicated to making a positive and lasting impact on our communities.
The Beyond Homes Foundation aims to address pressing social issues and food insecurities, promote education, support health-care initiatives, and contribute to the overall well-being of individuals and families in need. Committed to fostering positive change, the foundation will collaborate with Barrie Housing, local non-profits, community leaders, and businesses to create sustainable solutions for the betterment of our community.
Ashley Polischuik, chair of the board at Barrie Housing, expressed enthusiasm for the launch, stating: “At Barrie Housing, we recognize the profound impact of secure housing on individuals and families. With Beyond Homes Foundation’s creation, we aim to extend our reach beyond housing, offering comprehensive support to enhance the well-being and prospects of those facing economic hardships.”

Key focus areas for Beyond Homes Foundation include:
- Social services: partnering with organizations that provide critical social services, including food security, housing assistance, and support for our vulnerable tenants.
- Education: supporting education programs and initiatives to empower our tenants and create opportunities for lifelong learning.
- Community development: investing in projects that promote sustainable development, economic growth and social cohesion within our local community.
Barrie Housing will host a grand opening event on May 30, 2024, at 205 Kozlov St., Barrie, to celebrate the foundation’s launch. This event will bring together community leaders, partners and supporters to share the foundation’s visions and discuss collaborative opportunities.
