Large fire at farm equipment shop in Springwater

No injuries, Fire Marshal notified

Damage is pegged at more than a million dollars following a large, overnight fire at a farm equipment shop in Minesing. 

Springwater Fire and Emergency Services tweeted that the Ontario Fire Marshal has been notified due to the large dollar loss.

Several fire departments were called in to assist Springwater Fire after the industrial blaze broke out around 2:30 a.m. at Giffen Farm Equipment on Ronald Road west of George Johnson Road in Minesing. 

New Tecumseth Fire tweeted that seven tankers were supplying water to the scene. 

Clearview Fire is urging drivers to use caution in the area.

Cews are using a tanker shuttle across Ronald Road to a hydrant on Plowright by the fire station.

No reports of any injuries but damage is extensive, according to Springwater Fire twitter. 

Clearview Fire crews are providing mutual aid coverage in Minesing and Tiny Fire is providing coverage in the Elmvale station for any additional calls.

No word yet on the cause.
