COLLINGWOOD - Officers from the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a person involved in an animal cruelty incident.

On July 14, 2016 shortly after 6 p.m., OPP officers were called by a witness reporting that she was south bound on High Street just south of First Street when she observed a kitten thrown out of a motor vehicle ahead of her.

The witness stopped to render assistance to the kitten and eventually took it to a local veterinarian where it was ascertained that the kitten would survive the ordeal.

The vehicle is described as a newer model Ford pickup truck, burgundy in color and was last seen south bound on High Street near Second Street in Collingwood.
