If you’re looking to party for New Year’s Eve, there are several options for you whether you want to head to an outdoor concert, some personal space or to keep warm and get loud.
Barrie’s Downtown Countdown is sure to be a great time for all in attendance, but not everyone is into the big crowds or being outside too long.
You may be one of the more than one billion people worldwide who tunes into the New York Times Square celebrations on TV to watch the famous ball drop and live musical acts.
Or, if you’re like Tonia Lotta and her friend Jenny Mastrolonardo, you are out at the Kozlov Mall’s Party City picking up props for a big house party fit for 50 people.
“We have friends in from Chicago, so we decided to stay in and have a masquerade party," said Lotta. “Usually, we spend it indoors and my parents host it, but this will be our second year and has been lots of fun.”
If you still want to go out, but don’t want to be out in the cold, Mavrick’s Music Hall is hosting a huge party with some cool names in music and very fun events inside their 46 Dunlop St. W. location.
Manager Al Quigley told BarrieToday they expect a huge crowd and a stacked night for $20.
“We’re expecting about 500 people,” said Quigley. “Great bands, a DJ dance party with DJ King-The King of Country, indoor fireworks, midnight buffet, exclusive prizes for our upcoming shows including chance to win meet and greet with bands. Of course, Jason McCoy of The Road Hammers hosting the full night of entertainment and fun.”
Tickets for the New Year’s Eve Mavrick’s event can be purchased on their website at www.MavricksBarrie.ca and exclusive to BarrieToday readers if you use the promo code "BARRIETODAY" tickets will be a special price of $15 plus HST.
