TOWN OF ADJALA-TOSORONTIO - On Monday, June 13, 2016, at approximately 6:15 a.m., a member of the Nottawasaga Detachment, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Traffic Unit, was patrolling the detour routes of County Road 50, through Adjala-Tosorontio Township.

The officer was conducting RADAR speed enforcement on the 7th of Adjala-Tosorontio when he observed a Chevrolet Cruze travelling southbound at a high rate of speed. 

The officer received a speed reading of 139 km/h in a posted 60 km/h zone.

The officer successfully stopped the motor vehicle, which was driven by Trevor Priest aged 29 years of Alliston.

The male driver was charged with Stunt Driving and had his  licence suspended roadside and vehicle seized.

The Nottawasaga OPP wish to remind motorists that the posted speed limits are there to ensure the safety of motorists and residents.
