Ontario’s Special Investigation Unit (SIU) is investigating after a man was injured along Highway 400 early Saturday morning.
South Simcoe Police were called to Highway 400 and County Road 88 overpass for a man in crisis at about 5 a.m.
Along with OPP and York Regional Police, officers made contact with the man.
During the interaction, the man sustained non-life threatening injuries and was taken to hospital.
Highway 400 was closed in both directions for nearly three hours for the investigation.
County Road 88 over Highway 400 was closed until 7 p.m.
The SIU becomes involved when there is a death, serious injury or allegations of sexual abuse involving police.
