This year marks the 50th anniversary of Georgian College and while much has changed, the memories and moments continue to grow.
As part of the year-long celebrations, the Georgian Athletic Department is thrilled to announce an Athletic Alumni Weekend which will take place Sept. 22-24 at the Georgian College Barrie Campus.
The events kick off on Friday, Sept. 22 when the current Georgian Grizzlies men’s rugby team continues their quest to defend their OCAA Championship with a regular season home game at the Georgian Sports Field. Following the game there will be a welcome back social to serve as a homecoming for our rugby and other athletic alumni.
On Saturday, Sept. 23, the full Athletic Centre will be open for alumni and their families followed by alumni games in badminton, volleyball, basketball and hockey in the afternoon.
Later in the evening there will be a reunion dinner which will feature prizes and a silent auction filled with incredible items.
The events wrap up on Sunday with a golf outing at the local golf club.
Georgian Athletics is looking to reconnect with as many of alumni athletes, coaches and staff as possible and to welcome them back.
Proceeds from the weekend will go towards student-athlete scholarships at Georgian.
