Fire causes ‘extensive damage’ to lakefront home in Innisfil

Firefighters got the call April 1 around 9 p.m.; 'The residents of this property will be displaced,' says deputy fire chief

No injuries were reported, but residents of an Alcona property have been displaced following a fire Monday night.

Innisfil Fire and Rescue Services personnel responded to the call at the Lakelands Avenue home, situated along the Lake Simcoe shoreline near the roundabout entrance to Innisfil Beach Park, April 1 at around 9 p.m. The first crews to arrive noticed smoke and flames coming from the rear of the structure.

“There were no occupants of the residence home at the time of the call, the fire was under control but not before extensive damage was caused to the entire structure,” deputy fire chief Brent Black told InnisfilToday. “The residents of this property will be displaced.”

Staff plan to be on scene Tuesday to investigate the cause and origin of the blaze, he said.
