Barrie Police investigating sudden death (update)

2:30 p.m. update from Barrie Police Service:

A post-mortem was completed. It has been determined there was no foul play associated with the woman's death.

Police will no longer be on scene.

June 13 original story:

Barrie Police are investigating the death of a woman in her 40's at a home in the east end.

Police were called to 80A Bernick Drive after the discovery was made around 2:45 p.m. Monday. 

The coroner attended the scene and has ordered an autopsy to determine the cause of death. 

 "We'll be holding the scene as a precaution pending the autopsy results," said Sgt. Glen Furlong. 

The Forensic Identification Unit is at the scene along with detectives from the Criminal Investigation Unit.

Barrie Police tweeted at 6:55 p.m. that there is no concern for public safety.
