Arrest made in Mac's robbery (update)

3:30 p.m. update

A 17-year-old Barrie male was charged with the following offences in relation to the robbery on Monday evening:

  • Robbery with a weapon
  • Possession of a weapon for dangerous person
  • Disguise with intent

He was released on a Promise to Appear with a future court date in March.

The investigation is still ongoing and charges for the other party involved are pending. 

Updates to be provided as investigation continues.

On Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at 8:20 p.m. police arrested a 17-year-old male and have identified a 12-year-old male from Barrie responsible for the robbery that occurred the previous evening at Mac's Convenience on Huronia Road.

The knapsack used and cigarettes stolen were recovered by police.

The investigation is continuing and further information will be released.
