On May 1, 2016 police responded to a hotel on Bayfield Street in regards to a male who was [allegedly] caught breaking into the complainant's vehicle.

Prior to police arrival the complainant confronted the accused who then [allegedly] tried to punch the complainant.

After a brief altercation the accused took off on foot into a wooded area.

Police located the accused shortly after and placed him under arrest.

The accused was transported to the Barrie Police Service where he made threats that he would return to the hotel and harm the victim.

Police also learned that the accused was breaching his probation order and was charged with theft under $5,000, possession of stolen property, assault, uttering threats and breach of probation.
