The 161st Elmvale Fall Fair is one of the many great events taking place around Barrie this weekend.

If you are looking for something to do in the Barrie area this weekend, here are some events that could pique your interest:

Elmvale Fall Fair

The Elmvale Fall Fair will take place Thanksgiving weekend, October 6 and 7, 2023, at the Elmvale Fairgrounds where it will be celebrating its 161st year. The annual event is an excellent opportunity to view the craft and agricultural entries for judging. Friday will be packed with events sure to keep everyone entertained, and kicks off with the school parade, where students from local schools march down the main street. Other events include animal shows, antique tractor pulls, a midway and the ambassador program/variety night, to name a few. Click here for more information.

2023 Images Studio Tour

The Images Studio Tour takes place over four days from October 6 to 9 and runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. This free self-guided tour takes you through the beautiful rural landscapes of Oro-Medonte, Horseshoe Valley and along the Lake Simcoe shoreline to Orillia. Visitors will discover exceptional art and the beautiful fall colours of Central Ontario and have the opportunity to meet local painters, potters, sculptors, photographers, wood turners, jewellers and mixed media artists. Live Digital Caricature and Beer Experience

Come on down to the The Wheeled Brew Bottle Shop on Friday, Oct. 6 for a Live Art and Beer Experience and enjoy watching live caricature art as it‘s created on a big screen as portraits are drawn digitally by local portrait and caricature artist Linda Laforge. Click here for more information.

Barrie Artisan Market

Come out with the whole family and support local artisan vendors offering unique handmade items and treats while the kids can enjoy a craft zone and ball pit play area! Take photos in front of gorgeous insta-worthy photo backdrops! The first 25 to arrive will receive swag bags filled with small gifts donated by local artisans. The event runs Saturday, Oct. 7 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Peggy Hill Team Community Centre. 2nd Run for Barrie Charity Run

The Run for Barrie will take place Sunday, Oct. 8 and is a community event aimed at promoting health and wellness while supporting the local healthcare system. Participants can take part in a 1 km Fun Walk, 3 km Run or a 5km Run. This is a fundraiser for the RVH Foundation's Keep Life Wild campaign.Click here for more information.
