Ready to experience one of the best street festivals in Ontario? The Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury’s annual Carrot Fest is coming up on Aug. 16-18 in downtown Bradford, featuring a vendor market, free outdoor entertainment, live music, food vendors and more.

On Friday, come support your local businesses at the vendor market, enjoy musical entertainment and check out the Classic Car show.

On Saturday, explore more than 200 vendors lining the streets downtown. Return to the days of child-like wonder with entertainment everywhere you look, including aerial performers, stilt walkers, fire and magic shows and BMX stunt tricks.

Kids have endless options for fun. On both Friday and Saturday, the Kids Zone will be filled with inflatables and games with balloon twisting and juggling shows, with carrot arts and crafts on Friday evening. On Saturday, kids can also try out pony rides, face painting, henna tattoos, lots of entertainment at two Busker Pitches, and an ice cream eating contest with 3 Scoops.

The Main Stage will feature live musical performances, including Big Shiny ‘90s (‘90s alternative rock cover band), Coming of Age (classic rock), and Monkey Wrench (Foo Fighters tribute). Along with free live music, Carrot Fest offers a variety of delicious food from Liko’s Hawaiian barbecue and Mister Treats ice cream, as well as local food businesses like Kensington burgers, La Mexicanada and Sweet B’s desserts.

Carrot Fest started more than 20 years ago and celebrates BWG’s agricultural roots. The Holland Marsh Growers’ Association will once again be handing out free bags of locally grown carrots.

The festival is located outdoors along Holland St., Barrie St. and Simcoe Rd, and several events will also be held at the Bradford & District Memorial Community Centre at 125 Simcoe Rd., including Aqua Dogs, pony rides and wrestling shows. BWG Transit will be offering free bus service on Saturday for Carrot Fest, with free parking available at the BWG Leisure Centre and Bradford GO station.
