*************************

My name is Alexis Clark. I am a mom, small-business owner, PSW, and school-bus driver. I have one child that is returning for in-person learning in school this year.

I am running for the position of Simcoe County District School Board trustee for Barrie Wards 1-3 in hopes to be an advocate for change and to represent the needs and concerns of parents and caregivers as well as children.

Every child is unique and deserves inclusion, equality, and unity.

Children need consistency and regularity. They deserve the right to an education without being disrupted or interrupted by school closures.

Children also deserve an education that is free from a sexually based curriculum.

They should be taught beneficial skills to lead in the success of their future.

If elected I would represent and advocate for the needs and concerns of families, parents, caregivers, guardians, and all children.

My main issues heading into this term are the following:
1. Exposure of minors to sexually explicit materials, performers, and activities under SOGI 123 that has been implemented into the education curriculum.
2. Interruptions to an education by way of school closures caused by lockdowns.
3. Lack of transparency between educator and parent/caregiver in relation to what children are being taught.

If elected, I plan to do some more research into the role and responsibilities of the position as well as review past meetings.

I would also do some research into previous meetings, topics, and decisions voted on as well as set some goals and timelines to work towards.
