UPDATE (2:35 p.m.)
Barrie police say a sport-utility vehicle that was travelling southbound on Fairview Road failed to negotiate a left turn onto Little Avenue. The SUV then mounted the curb, struck a retaining wall and rolled onto its roof.
A male driver fled on foot.
A female passenger, who also fled, was apprehended a short distance away. She was later released after speaking with investigators at the scene.
Police are asking members of the public who may have been in the area to contact investigators if they have dash-cam video of the collision or if they observed a man wearing a white hooded sweatshirt running north from the scene.
It is unknown if the male driver sustained any injuries and, because of this, police are concerned for his well-being.
Police are "encouraging" the driver to attend Barrie Police Headquarters to conclude the investigation.

City police say the driver and passenger fled the scene after the vehicle they were in rolled over this morning in Barrie's south end.
Officers responded to the call at 8:14 a.m. on Monday, April 15 and found an SUV on its roof at Little Avenue and Fairview Road, not far from police headquarters.
Police say the vehicle’s occupants fled the scene.
“We know who we are looking for and we are looking for them. We are trying to locate the driver and a passenger,” Barrie police communications coordinator Peter Leon said.
Police say more information will be provided as it becomes available.
