VIDEO: Area barbershop set ablaze by suspect

No injuries were reported in fire early Wednesday at Richmond Hill business

York Regional Police are investigating an arson early Wednesday at a barbershop in downtown Richmond Hill.

Emergency crews responded to a report of a fire at about 3:45 a.m. on May 1 at the business at Yonge Street and Major Mackenzie Drive. 

The front window had been broken and a fire set inside, police stated in a news release.

Firefighters extinguished the blaze and no injuries were reported.

Video shows a suspect in dark clothing throwing something through the glass door, entering the shop and starting the fire.
