Two taken to hospital after New Tecumseth Township collision

NEW TECUMSETH TOWNSHIP - On Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2017 at approximately 2:39 p.m., members of the Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), were called to the scene of a two-vehicle collision on 15 Sideroad south of Line 3, New Tecumseth Township. 

The collision involved a Volkswagen Golf going northbound on 15 Sideroad and a Ford Fusion going westbound on the 3rd Line of New Tecumseth. The Volkswagen and the Ford collided in the intersection and both vehicles ended up in the ditch.

The 59-year-old female driver of the Volkswagen was extricated from her vehicle by King City Fire Department and Simcoe County Paramedics and transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The 82-year-old male driver of the Ford was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The road was closed for a short period of time and is now reopened. The investigation is still ongoing.
