Three charged in drug warrant execution

All three face possession of drug charges, two also face weapons charges

ORILLIA - On Friday, Nov. 03, 2017 the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) executed two warrants in the City of Orillia.

At approximately 9:40 p.m. members of the Orillia Crime Unit, Central Region Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), Central Region Emergency Response Team (ERT), Central Region Canine (K9) and Orillia OPP members executed search warrants at a Gill Street address and West Street North address in the City of Orillia.

As a result of the Gill Street search warrant police located a quantity of Cocaine and Cannabis Resin. Charged are 39-year-old Tanya Rose and 36-year-old Douglas MacIntosh from Orillia with the following offences:

  • Unauthorized possession of weapon contrary to Section 91(2) of the Criminal Code.
  • Possession property obtained by crime under $5,000 contrary to Section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking contrary to Section 5(2) of the Controlled Drug and Substances Act.
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance contrary to Section 4(1) of the Controlled Drug and Substances Act.
  • Possession of a Schedule II substance contrary to Section 4(1) of the Controlled Drug and Substances Act.

As a result of the search warrant at the West Street North address 49-year-old Cory Stefanick of Orillia is charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking contrary to Section 5(2) of the Controlled Drug and Substances Act.
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance contrary to Section 4(1) of the Controlled Drug and Substances Act.

All accused parties have been released on a Promise to Appear for Dec. 19, 2017 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orillia.
