Male kicked out of house party, charged with mischief and impaired

Barrie Police officers began their investigation after a report of a possible break and enter but once the male in question was located and the story was sorted out, a variety of charges were laid.

Officers were called to the area of Hickling Trail, in the City of Barrie, around midnight after a male had fled in his vehicle. He male had been removed from a house party by residents after he was involved in a fight with some friends.  

The male was located a short distance away, at Grove Street East and Duckworth Street, driving his vehicle. Police believed the male was intoxicated, also locating an open beer in the front cupholder, and the male was arrested for impaired driving.  

He was transported to the Barrie Police Service where he provided breath samples over double the legal limit. 

Additional officers attended the residence on Hickling Trail and collected statements from the original complainants. The male reportedly kicked the front door of the residence and threw a bottle through a window when kicked out of the party. 

A 24-year-old Caledon male was charged with:

  • Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle
  • Operation of a Motor Vehicle with Over 80mg alcohol
  • Mischief Under $5,000

The male was released on a Promise to Appear with a court date in May to answer to his charges.
