Fire in unoccupied residence not suspicious, say police

ESSA TOWNSHIP, ON - On Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2018 at approximately 2:30 p.m., officers from the Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a residential structure fire on County Road 21, west of County Road 10 in Essa Township.

OPP attended along with Essa and New Tecumseth Fire Departments and Simcoe County Paramedic Services.

Officers assisted with road closures on County Road 21 at County Road 10 and Scotch Line while the fire departments attended the structure fire. The roads were reopened just after 5 p.m.

Fortunately the residence was unoccupied at the time and the fire is not deemed suspicious.
