INNISFIL — A 12-year-old Innisfil boy is in critical but stable condition in hospital following a collision with a vehicle while riding his bicycle.

On Friday, Sept. 20, 2019, around 5:30 p.m., the boy and his sister were riding their bicycles eastbound on Big Bay Point Road near 25 Sideroad in Innisfil.

As an eastbound Kia attempted to pass the cyclists, the boy's bicycle and the Kia made contact.

The child was rushed to a local hospital and later transported to a Toronto hospital.

The driver of the Kia remained on scene and spoke to police.

The Traffic Unit is investigating the collision and is appealing for witnesses. Anyone with information is asked to call South Simcoe Police Service at 905-775-3311, 705-436-2141 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
