A 29-year-old woman faces numerous charges following a brief police chase today in Barrie that lasted approximately seven minutes.
City police began following a vehicle they witnessed to be driving erratically in the Innisfil Street area at 10:13 a.m., Wednesday.
The truck's driver took off, forcing officers to pursue the vehicle until eventually stopping the vehicle and arresting the suspect at 10:20 a.m. in the area of Anne and Vespra streets.
The female suspect has been charged with flight from police, dangerous operation of a vehicle, breach of probation, and driving while under suspension.
Barrie police communications co-ordinator Peter Leon said despite the apprehension involving a chase, the suspect was arrested without further incident.
“The female driver is facing countless charges and while she did try to evade police, once apprehended she complied without incident," he told BarrieToday.
The suspect is being held in custody pending a bail hearing Thursday by video.
