Woman accused of using stolen credit cards

WASAGA BEACH - Members of the Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police responded to a report of a theft from a motor vehicle on Shore Lane in Wasaga Beach.

After a lengthy investigation, the Huronia West OPP determined a female had broken into several vehicles in the area stealing credit cards and cheque books that were used to purchase prepaid Visa cards.

Sarah Graves, 29 years old, of Wasaga Beach, was arrested and is charged with:

  • Adult fraud under $5000 CC 380(1) (b) X 4
  • Adult possession property obtained by crime under $5000 - in Canada CC 354(1) (a) X 2
  • Adult possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000 - in Canada CC 354(1) (a) X 4

She was held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Barrie.

In addition, police are reminding motorists to lock their vehicles, even if left unattended for a short period of time and pocket their keys. Any valuables left in a vehicle should be either removed from the vehicle or locked away in the trunk or stored out of plain view.
