In the early morning hours of October 7, 2015 several concerned citizens called Barrie Police Service as they could hear a female yelling for help in the water on Lakeshore Drive near the Docks.

These calls were received around 1:45 a.m.

When Police arrived at this location the female had been located.

Although the female suffered no harm from being in the cold water it quickly became evident that the female was very intoxicated.

With the assistance of ambulance the female was transported to the Royal Victoria Regional Health Center to be assessed and cared for.

Shortly after arriving at the hospital Police were asked to return as the female began uncooperative and fled the hospital.

Police located the 28-year-old Barrie female in the parking lot of RVRHC and transported her to the Barrie Police Service Headquarters for her own safety until she was sober.

Police are reminding citizens that alcohol and water Do NOT mix, a reminder for this Thanksgiving long weekend.
