Victim injured after being robbed of purse, Doc Martens and jacket

Robbery happened Friday night near Dunlop and Owen streets in downtown Barrie

A Friday night robbery has police looking for a man and a woman while the victim was sent to hospital with a head injury.

At approximately 10:25 p.m., near the intersection of Dunlop and Owen streets, a woman was assaulted and robbed of a purse, limited-edition hot pink Doc Martens boots, and a velvet GAP jacket.

Barrie police communications co-ordinator Peter Leon told BarrieToday the investigation remains ongoing at this time.

“The victim suffered a non-life-threatening injury to her head which required hospital treatment," he said.

Leon also said there may also have been "an edged weapon" involved as well as what may have been an airsoft-type firearm.

The two suspects being sought are described as male standing five-foot-eight to five-foot-nine, who was wearing a dark hoodie and possibly has short blonde hair. He had a backpack, a mask on and may have been wearing a jacket.

The second suspect is described as an Indigenous female, standing five-foot-four slightly heavier build with brown shoulder-length hair, possibly in a ponytail. She was wearing a light-coloured hoodie, possibly a jacket and had a backpack. Her teeth appeared to be spaced apart (gaps in between the majority of them). She had a mask, but did remove it at one point during the commission of the crime.
