South Simcoe Police Service officers have charged a 65-year-old Innisfil man with impaired driving-related offences following a single-vehicle collision.

On Thursday, Aug. 8, 2019, around 9 p.m., officers responded to Innisfil Beach Road near the 20th Sideroad where they located a Ford Fusion stopped diagonally across an eastbound lane.

Witnesses who happened on the scene prior to police arrival said they stopped to offer assistance to the male driver.

Police arrested the man after observing signs of impairment. He was transported to North Division where breath tests resulted in
readings well over the legal limit. 

A 65-year-old Innisfil man was charged with operation while impaired and over 80. His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days. He did not require medical treatment.
