Barrie Police were called to a home on William Street at 3:20 a.m.
"We found two deceased males with obvious signs of trauma," said Const. Nicole Rodgers.
Police say the investigation is in its preliminary stages. Identification of the two men will not be released pending notification of next of kin.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Barrie Police homicide unit, or Crime Stoppers.
William street is closed from Burton to Holgate.
Area resident Brittany Burmister specifically moved to the neighbourhood three years ago because it is usually so quiet.
"Wow. That's crazy," she said, upon learning about the two deceased men. "This is a really good neighbourhood. It's a really good community. That's really surprising."
"Nothing like that happens around here. The excitement we get is maybe a fox running by."
