Two charged in separate assault incidents in Bradford

One man was allegedly injured while intervening in a dispute; In the other case, a woman was allegedly assaulted by her common-law partner

A 33-year-old Bradford woman is facing charges after a man was assaulted while intervening in a dispute.

On Friday, Aug. 2, 2019 around 2:00 a.m., South Simcoe Police Service officers responded to a report of a disturbance at a home in the Maplegrove Avenue and Luxury Avenue area of Bradford.

When officers arrived, they learned a 42-year-old Bradford man had been attacked while intervening in a heated argument between a man and a woman at the home.

Officers located the suspect and placed her under arrest.

The 33-year-old Bradford woman was charged with four counts of assault and four counts of fail to comply with undertaking. She was released with a future court date.

The victim did not require medical attention.

South Simcoe Police Service officers have charged a Bradford man following a domestic assault call in Bradford.

On Thursday, Aug. 1, 2019 at 11 p.m., police were dispatched to a report of a domestic assault at a home in the area of Holland Street East and Colborne Street.

Once officers were on scene, they located a 45-year-old woman who had been (allegedly) assaulted by her common-law partner.

Police subsequently arrested a 46-year-old Bradford man and charged him with assault, uttering threats and domestic mischief. The accused was held for a bail hearing.

The victim declined medical attention.
