Two arrested after trying to run from police in Wasaga Beach

WASAGA BEACH - On March 29, 2020, the Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a complaint for a stolen ATV from an address on Thomas Street, Wasaga Beach.

On March 30, 2020 at approximately 7:57 p.m., a member of the Central Region Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) Team of the OPP observed the stolen ATV carrying two males on Pearl Street, in the Town of Wasaga Beach. The officer followed the ATV to an address on Academy Avenue, where a traffic stop was attempted. The two males fled from police and were pursued on foot into a residence.

One of the males was located hiding in the residence and arrested, while the other exited through a second-storey window and fled on foot. Another male inside the residence was arrested for obstructing the officer who was trying to effect the arrests.

Brayden Bullock, 19 years old of Wasaga Beach, Ont., was arrested and charged with:
    •    CC 354(1)(a) - possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
    •    CC 733.1(1) - fail to comply with probation order

Richard Parry, 22 years old of Wasaga Beach, Ont., was arrested and charged with:
    •    CC 129(a) - obstruct peace officer

Both accused are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Collingwood on July 7, 2020.

The other involved male was identified and police are still attempting to locate him. There is no concern for public safety.
