Two accused of threatening victim with a baseball bat in Penetang

The pair face assault charges as a result

PENETANGUISHENE - Uniform officers from the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police  (OPP) responded to an assault complaint in the Penetanguishene Rotary Champlain Wendat Park near the Penetanguishene Curling Rink Parking lot.

At 7:27 p.m. on June 6, 2021, the OPP Communications Center was contacted after a person alleged being threatened by two others with one carrying a bat.

Investigation has lead to charges for David Butler, 37 years old, of Midland, with the Criminal offences of:

  • Assault with a weapon; and
  • Uttering threats - cause death or bodily garm.

Cameron Leduc, 21 years old, of Penetanguishene, has also been charged with the Criminal offence of:

  • Uttering Threats - cause death or bodily harm.

Both accused persons were released on an undertaking to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Midland on July 15, 2021.
